YouTubers from the channel Cheap Finds Gold Mines come away from a hoarder home with tons of retro games, including sealed copies of fan favorites.

YouTuber channel Cheap Finds Gold Mines recently discovered some gems among games they acquired from a “hoarder home.” The duo featured on the channel are self-described resellers that travel across the United States in search of items they can purchase and then flip for a profit online.

In this particular instance, the young couple were able to acquire some video games from a hoarder home that were valued slightly over $20,000 in total. They claimed that there was easily $100,000 worth of valuable games in the home, but there were other resellers that picked up some items.

The couple went on to claim that they came away with “definitely less than 20%” of the games available in the home. They were able to grab still sealed copies of various games, including multiple copies of Twisted Metal 2 for the PS1 and even a sealed copy of the “Player’s Choice” edition of Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for the GameCube. In those titles alone, the couple estimated a value of almost $1,000. Sealed copies of retro games regularly sell for astronomical prices, and Cheap Finds Gold Mines came across some real gems.

The owners of the channel described how they came across the home, detailing an exchange with one of their clients. The client informed them that the home was reportedly full of sealed video games with whispers that some rare titles were among them. The video above is actually the final video in a three part mini series in which the couple documents their time in the hoarder home, chronicling their finds along the way.

In total, the couple said they paid roughly $870 for the entirety of the games they collected from the home. The games collected span multiple generations. Among the haul are PS1, Xbox, PS2, PS3, GameCube, and even Dreamcast titles. While not every game was sealed or brand new, most of them appeared to be in excellent condition and very much seemed playable. The GameCube titles raised particular interest, as Nintendo does not make GameCube titles readily accessable.

Retro game collection is not always fun, however. Some companies have been accused of committing fraud to make their games more valuable. Some sellers try to take advantage of potential buyers and make unreasonable prices for certain items. Gamers should be weary of practices like this.

It is the dream of many gamers to stumble across some vast collection of rare games to add to their library. While most will never be lucky enough to find a sealed copy Super Mario 64 worth $1.5 million, it is still possible to find things of value if gamers know where to look. Thankfully, the channel Cheap Finds Gold Mines detailed just how they found these deals through their channel description. The description reveals that they simply visit pawn shops, garage sales, flea markets, etc. to find everything they can. While not every trip is that successful, they truly found a gold mine in that hoarder home.
