APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - An annual event held on Friday in Appleton helped those who use mobility devices by providing free cleanings and inspections.

Numotion held its annual wheelchair wash event, with volunteers on hand to help users get their chairs detailed and inspected.

All services were free, thanks to certified technicians from Numotion.

Those we spoke with say events like these are a game-changer.

“i remember attending this event 20 years ago and what that meant to me, as a person who’s newly in a chair, and so today is not just about getting our pieces of equipment cleaned, and leaving feeling great sitting in them, it’s about community collaboration as well,” says Autumn Nordall, the advocacy coordinator for Options For Independent Living.

Attendees also enjoyed a brat and burger picnic lunch, with Appleton Police Outreach Liaison helping host community bingo.
