Virtuix, a Texas company that makes virtual reality treadmills, said Wednesday that it has selected defense technology firm AVRT to help build a new infantry training system for the US Marine Corps. The simulator is expected to be delivered to Quantico, Virginia, in the fourth quarter of 2026.

"The infantry trainer enables four Marines to maneuver together through realistic combat scenarios using unrestricted movement on Omni One treadmills rather than joystick or limited roomscale navigation," the company said in a statement.

The soldiers will use tracked imitation M4 rifles and Meta Quest headsets, with instructors monitoring their actions and reviewing their performance afterward.
