MIDDLESEX — UNC Health Nash is expanding access to primary care in western Nash County with the opening of a larger medical facility in Middlesex.

The clinic, which is named UNC Health Family Medicine at Middlesex, will begin serving patients Tuesday from its new location at 7620 Middlesex Corporate Parkway.

The facility houses eight family medicine and internal medicine practitioners, including providers moving from the current UNC Internal Medicine and Pediatrics practice at Middlesex. Those providers will continue caring for their established patients at the new facility, while the larger space will increase UNC Health Nash’s capacity to welcome thousands of new patients from western Nash County and from communities near the Wake County-Nash County line.

The clinic will serve patients through all stages of life, beginning at birth, and will provide routine checkups, preventive care, chronic disease management and other essential primary care services.

As Middlesex and nearby communities such as Wendell and Zebulon continue to grow, the new practice will connect more patients with UNC Health Medical Group providers and services. Its location offers residents throughout the region an alternative to traveling farther into central Nash County or more congested areas of Wake County for routine care.

The Middlesex medical office building is part of UNC Health Nash’s broader strategy to strengthen the region’s health care infrastructure through long-term investment. UNC Health Nash will continue offering specialty services at its existing Middlesex location while expanding services across the campus. MRI capabilities are expected to be added at the new facility within the next year to help meet growing demand for imaging services in the region. UNC Health Nash is also evaluating future uses for the existing site, including the potential addition of urgent care. As services expand, the campus is expected to create additional health care career opportunities in Middlesex.
