SKKU: Students in department of computer education won online AI competition

Students(Gil-Han Park, Jae-Hwan Lee, and Keon-Woo Bang) of the department of computer education at the College of Education won the honor of being the third place atthe “2021 Online AI competition” hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. They got the award in the computer vision task of developing a ‘model to detect driver’s careless behavior to prevent accidents’ in the image sector.

The ‘Online AI Competition” is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency to expand the base of AI technology and select prospective start-ups and small and medium-sized companies (venture companies) with excellent algorithm development skills.

The National IT Industry Promotion comprehensively evaluates the performance and commercialization of the competition, and selects 20 teams, including 8 teams in image sector, 6 teams in natural language, and 6 teams in numerical analysis.With the result, it plans to support 300 million per team and award the minister’s award and the president’s award to first and second places, respectively, in each field.
