Samsung Electronics today announced how it is collaborating with European research groups to improve natural language processing (NLP) algorithms for its mobile devices. These efforts are aimed at improving the performance of features such as Chat Assist, Translator Mode, and Live Translate Call, which are key components of the Galaxy AI platform.
Samsung R&D Poland (SRPOL) plays an important role in this initiative. The SRPOL team has extensive experience with Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Neural Machine Translation (NMT), and Speech Synthesis (TTS) models. They have already developed models for over 30 languages and collaborate with Samsung's research teams around the world.
SRPOL has also played a key role in becoming Samsung's European AI language technology development centre. This has facilitated collaboration between teams in different regions and accelerated the development of new language models.
Thanks to these efforts, Samsung AI can now support 10 European languages, with plans to add more in the future.
