ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Earlier on Saturday, R4Creating hosted a robotics competition for students all over the state. The event featured over 20 elementary and middle school robotics teams.

They were tasked with building different robots and using them to compete in competitions and games. Organizers say that building robots is just a portion of what the competition offers to students. “Not just how to build a robot, but how to be interviewed, how to deliver a marketing presentation, how to talk to media, hwo to go out and raise funds to support their teams. So many different aspects that lead to an amazing member of our community. Leaders, leadership skills that are so valuable,” said Dr. Shelly Gruenig from R4Creating.

The winning teams had the opportunity to qualify for the robotics world championships in St. Louis.
