Eric Migicovsky has confirmed three new devices are in development. This follows a busy year for the Pebble founder, including six trips to Shenzhen and the revival of multiple devices under the Pebble name.
In a post shared from Hong Kong airport, Migicovsky mentioned he was flying back with six devices developed over the past year. Half of those, he says, are early engineering samples of products not yet revealed to the public. The phrasing suggests these are distinct from the currently known Pebble 2 Duo, Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Index 01 smart ring, all of which are already either in production or shipping to early buyers.
He didn’t share any visuals or hint at any names for the upcoming hardware. But given the Pebble community’s active speculation and Migicovsky’s known side projects, there’s a fair bit of context to work with.

Some of the most frequently mentioned possibilities include Pebble Index Steel, Pebble Index Round and Pebble Index 2 with a colored button. These were shared in response to the mention of unannounced devices now in testing.
Other ideas have included a pendant-style notification wearable, a compact media player, a PebbleOS-powered desk companion and a cyberdeck-style device. While none of these have been confirmed, the range of suggestions reflects growing curiosity around what direction the next Pebble hardware might take.
Perhaps the most interesting possibility is a product completely outside the smartwatch category. We are talking here about Migicovsky’s long-standing Small Android Phone initiative, which aims to build a compact, premium device in the spirit of the iPhone 13 Mini, but running clean Android.
The website smallandroidphone.com has been live for a while now. It outlines a wish-list of specs for a 5.4-inch device with flagship internals, solid cameras and a clean software experience. So Migicovsky clearly has interest in that direction. If the phone has moved into Engineering Validation Test, it could be one of the three mystery devices now in development.
That said, there is still no confirmation that any phone prototype is among the three. But it is a realistic possibility.
Of course, launching multiple products at once carries risk. The original Pebble brand struggled under the weight of different SKUs, marketing challenges and manufacturing delays. And let’s not forget – this new phase operates with a leaner team.
That said, because of the pre-order driven model, the devices are being developed slowly now. Software is mostly open source and support is being kept intentionally low-overhead.
Migicovsky’s current team is tiny, and the new Pebble hardware is being built under the “Core Devices” umbrella, a company structure more suited to niche wearables and grassroots hardware projects. But what initially seemed like an experimental project might be turning into something more substantial. Watch this space.
