SHAUN the Sheep is returning to Liverpool in a brand new interactive experience.

A Shaun the Sheep-themed augmented reality (AR) trail will take over Liverpool ONE throughout May, offering families the chance to enjoy 3D adventures with Shaun and his friends.

Titled Shaun the Sheep: Fun with the Flock, the free AR trail features nine markers hidden around the shopping destination, each unlocking interactive scenes and challenges with farmyard characters like Bitzer the dog.

Brendan Hattam, centre director at Liverpool ONE, said: "The Shaun the Sheep AR trail will be a fun, quirky adventure, and we’re excited to partner with Aardman to bring it back to the city after last year’s success.

"As well as the trail, guests will also be able to enjoy character meets and stunning art sculptures of Shaun the Sheep.

"Together with our family-favourite brands across fashion, dining and entertainment, Liverpool ONE is the perfect destination for a fun-filled family day out this half term – and beyond."

The trail runs from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 31.

Families can collect a trail map and a free Shaun the Sheep headband from the Liverpool ONE information centre on Wall Street.

Those who complete the trail will receive a sticker prize, while adults who sign up for Liverpool ONE’s free PLUS+ reward programme will be entered for a chance to win a £100 gift card.

Visitors will also find artist-designed Shaun the Sheep sculptures along the route and can enjoy family-friendly activities during May half-term, with appearances from Shaun the Sheep on Tuesday, May 26.

Liverpool ONE PLUS+ members will be the first to access tickets for the character appearances.

To take part in the AR trail, visitors should download the ‘Fun with the Flock’ app and enter the location code 0508.

Alternatively, the trail can be enjoyed without the app by manually following the markers throughout Liverpool ONE.

Guests are encouraged to capture photos and videos with the animated characters and share them with family and friends.
