TECH company Lenovo is expanding its personal artificial intelligence platform to more devices, applications and markets, including eligible PCs with 16GB of memory, selected Motorola smartphones and the moto watch ultra.

The expansion was announced at Lenovo Innovation World during IFA 2026 on Sept. 3, as Lenovo & Motorola Qira moves beyond its initial rollout across Lenovo devices earlier this year.

Lenovo said Qira will expand to eligible Lenovo PCs with 16GB of memory, allowing the personal AI experience to run on configurations with lower memory than those initially supported.

The company also plans to bring Qira to eligible Motorola devices as they receive the Android 17 software upgrade, including select Edge, Signature and Razr devices. The rollout will take place gradually, with timing varying by device and market.

The moto watch ultra will also become the first wearable to support Qira. Users will be able to raise their wrist or say "Hey Qira" to ask general questions or access information using Qira's cross-device knowledge.

Since its initial rollout, Lenovo has brought Qira to more than 80 supported PC configurations across its commercial and consumer portfolios, as well as select tablets and Motorola smartphones. The platform currently supports six languages, with Lenovo planning to expand it to additional device families and form factors by the end of 2026.

"Personal AI should not be another app waiting for a prompt," said Dan Dery, Lenovo vice president of AI Ecosystem. "It should understand what matters to you, move with you across devices and help orchestrate next steps across the agents, applications and services you choose."

The company is also expanding Qira's connections to everyday applications through a collaboration with Workato. Supported applications and services include Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Slack, Outlook Mail and Outlook Calendar.

The integrations are designed to allow users to retrieve information and complete actions without moving between separate applications. Lenovo said users can use its Catch Me Up feature to review updates and take action from the same interface.

Lenovo is also collaborating with Notion, allowing users to connect their accounts to Qira to access and edit information from their projects. The company is expanding Qira's integration with Perplexity to support deeper research, including visual references.

Lenovo said privacy and user control are built into Qira's architecture. Its hybrid, local-first design prioritizes on-device processing where supported, while information added to a user's personal knowledge base is encrypted and stored locally.

When cloud processing is required, Qira sends the prompt and relevant context needed for the requested experience through secure, encrypted cloud services, Lenovo said.

Eligible users can download Lenovo Qira from Lenovo's website, while the company plans to preload it on supported Lenovo devices at a later date.

Lenovo said the availability and timing of the features may vary depending on the device, market, configuration and platform. Some features may require software updates, user permission, supported applications or services, account sign-in, internet connectivity or specific hardware and software configurations.
