India secured a four wicket victory over England in the first ODI at Nagpur and taking the 3 match series lead to 1–0. Virat Kohli was not seen playing at the Nagpur Stadium due to his injury in the knee. Shreyas Iyer got a chance in the playing 11 and played a beautiful 57-run knock. Although it was Shubman Gill who took the boat to the shore for Indians. He scored 87 runs and was awarded Man of the Match. now India will take the field again on the 9th of February at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

Kohli will be returning in the second ODI and it would be interesting to see who from the playing 11 would be benched.
