Discovery World on Market to celebrate National Robotics Week

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Discovery World on Market plan to have some exciting temporary activities at it’s location involving National Robotics Week.
Logan Mace, the STEAM manager at Discovery World, explains some of the different things that will be happening over the weekend.
“We are going to be bringing in the Dark Side Robotics team,“ Mace said. ”They’re going to bring in some really large robots that kids and people can watch. They’re also going to bring some of that kids can or families can interact with and drive themselves. That’s going to be the big display of things tomorrow. They’re also going be building projects, vex robots, and Lego robotics."
The makerspace at Discovery World will also be open for different activities as well as the 3D-printers and laser cutters.
This event will be going across the entire weekend during Discovery World’s regular hours.
Mace added robotics are essential the STEAM process of educating kids.
“Robotics is absolutely important,” Mace said “Not only that, kids and everybody loves robots anyway. It’s just fun, unique, and interesting. It’s a fun way to get involved into the STEM career. Robots are kind of fundamental to STEAM and STEM anyway, so we love it.”
