Temple headband monitors brain activity via blood flow and is set for a limited launch, with pre-orders opening very soon, before 2026

Zomato founder and former CEO Deepinder Goyal has shared new details about his health wearable device, Temple. In a recent post on X, Goyal revealed that the new version of Temple is less than half the size of the first generation while being more powerful.

“Volumetrically, Temple is now the smallest wearable on the market, and the most powerful. Living and training with Temple is going to change your life,” the post on X said.

According to Goyal, this is a limited launch edition of Temple and can be pre-ordered very soon. While he did not provide specifics on the launch timeline, the device is likely to go on sale before 2026.

Temple is a headband designed to monitor brain activity using sensors. Placed on the forehead, it tracks brain activity via blood flow in the brain. The device was invented by Goyal after he stepped down as Zomato CEO.

In February, Temple raised USD 54 million in Series B venture financing from investors including Steadview Capital, Peak XV Partners, Vy Capital and Info Edge Ventures. Recent reports indicate Temple is now repurchasing stock options held by employees at a valuation of USD 375 million, twice the valuation of the previous funding round.

Temple is part of a growing number of technology and healthcare firms developing advanced wearables beyond traditional fitness smartwatches. Analysts forecast the market will reach USD 4.4 billion by 2034.

Other innovations in this space include smart rings from brands such as Ultrahuman, Gabit, Noise and FITTR, which monitor health parameters, and brain-tracking headphones from companies like Sychedelic, which measure brain waves and aim to reduce stress levels.
