CHICAGO (WGN) – A firework was reportedly set off right outside a Chicago alderman's home early Saturday morning while his children were asleep inside.

Police said the incident happened at 12:45 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of West 21st Street, outside the Lower West Side home of Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez (25th Ward).

Video surveillance shows an SUV drive up to the intersection. A man later gets out of the SUV and ignites a suspected firework directly in front of Sigcho-Lopez's home, according to the alderman. The man then immediately got back in the SUV which then drove off.
