More On: SAW Genesis

A brand new videogame based on the SAW franchise was announced and as a huge fan of these movies.... what the hell did I just watch? At Summer Games Fest we got the announcement of SAW Genesis and I have absolutely no idea what's going on here because we are watching World War 1 soldiers being put in SAW traps? What on earth?

The official website says this is 3v1 multiplayer game that takes place 100 years before the events of the movie and one player is the "The Judge" who wants to rehabilitate humanity through pain and sacrifice. The others play as "The Accused" where you will have to complete challenges, solve puzzles and make choices. These choices have consequences and will effect the rest of the game. For instance one choice make have you losing an arm which will make fighting back and completing puzzles harder.

This is quite the fascinating direction to go for this series. Not sure how I feel about this as I love the SAW series but the fact that it's another horror multiplayer game gives me serious pause because it seems like any game like this that isn't Dead by Daylight dies an early death less than two years after release.

No release date yet but closed alpha sign ups are available on the official website.
